新桂柳高速由广西交通投资集团和华邦建投集团携手打造，主线全长96公里，总投资129亿元。项目建成通车后，将对广西着力构建“南向、北联、东融、西合”全方位开放发展新格局，实施乡村振兴战略，积极融入“一带一路”，加快西部陆海新通道建设具有重要意义。

 日前，广西桂林至柳城高速公路（新桂柳高速）已经基本建成，即将通车。目前，施工单位正在做通车前设备调试工作。该高速公路起于桂林市外环线，终点位于柳州市融安县潭头乡西塘村附近，属国家交通公路网项目，项目主线全长95.7公里，为双向四车道，设计速度100公里/小时，总投资129亿元。
